Do you tip in Iceland?

Tipping is not expected in Iceland — service and taxes are already included in the price at restaurants, bars, taxis and tours, and no one will be offended if you don't tip. If a driver or guide has genuinely gone above and beyond, a small tip is appreciated but entirely optional.
The short version
Iceland is a no-tipping culture. Prices already include service and tax, and staff are paid a full wage — so tipping is never required and rounding up is more than enough if you want to.
Restaurants and bars
No service charge is added and none is expected. If service was excellent, rounding up or leaving 5–10% is a kind gesture, not an obligation.
Taxis and private drivers
Taxi fares are complete as metered. For a private driver or guide on a tour, a small tip for a great day is appreciated but entirely optional.
When a tip makes sense
If someone went out of their way — extra stops, help with heavy luggage, a memorable day — a small tip is a nice way to say thank you.
